How It Works

Workers conduct daily recommended ladder inspections via mobile devices. Once workers begin using the ladder, the system senses and evaluates their positioning. If one of the undesired behaviors noted below is detected, real-time audible alerts prompt immediate self-correction.Ladder usage data is wirelessly transmitted to the cloud and can be viewed in the Data Analytics Portal by management. Trends identified in the portal can then inform pre-task planning, safety talks, and training.In the case of a potential fall, the system will send text notifications to designated personnel, enabling immediate intervention.  The system issues warning tones when any of the following unsafe actions are detected:  
  • Exceeding the ladder’s rated working load
  • Climbing up the back side of the ladder
  • Leaning too far right or left outside the ladder rails
  • Moving the ladder while it is in use
  • Dismounting from any step other than the lowest step
  • Ladder tipping with weight present
  • Ladder not level
