At Otto we saw an opportunity to combine innovative technology and the power of data with real-time alerts to revolutionize worksite safety. This IS our patented technology.
Until its introduction, there had been no technological innovations to mitigate the risks of working at height. By contrast, new safety technologies such as backup cameras, lane and blind side assist and crash detecting sensors have been regularly introduced to make driving safer. Otto’s goal is to bring that same level of technological innovation for safety to the worksite.
The first application of our technology focuses on safety for workers at heights by creating smart ladders and we are working on other integrated products, including Smart Scaffolds™ and more. Our technology will become the standard on worksites across the construction industry and we are already working on expanding to other industries.
To help assess our technology, we assembled an independent panel of 28 construction, insurance, government and university safety experts to evaluate the reliability and effectiveness of our technology. They have examined the data from multiple field trials and issued a report which can be accessed here.
Data from the equipment is captured and stored securely, and is used to provide actionable insights, such as types of unsafe behavior, problem areas at worksites, most dangerous areas and worktimes, as well as asset and worker utilization. The data is made available through product subscriptions that allow you to make informed decisions to reduce your risks, improve your culture of safety and increase profits.
